Zoo Visitor Services – Admissions & Experiences (Spring/Summer)

Seasonal

Hourly Range: $10.37-$15.35

Job Summary

Under supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, Visitor Services Specialist Lead, and the Visitor Services Specialist the Zoo worker in Admissions and Experiences is responsible for interacting with our guests, including greeting, thanking, and processing ticket sales. Providing our guests with a great guest experience is our #1 priority. This can be a fast-paced work environment and requires computer and communication skills. Throughout the Zoo, shifts are mainly standing and outdoors for admissions, parking, and various experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Customer Service – The Visitor Services Department will provide a great guest experience and promote animal conservation by following standard procedures and reciting narratives with kindness and consistency.
  • Cash Handling – Expected to properly handle ticket sales and payment transactions using a Point-of-Sale system.
  • Appearance – Wear proper Zoo uniform at all times, practice good hygiene
  • Attendance – Follow attendance policy and availability procedures
  • Daily Duties – Opening, operating, closing duties, including cleaning of assigned area and picking of debris within the park to ensure a clean experience for our guests.
  • Ability to operate the following equipment properly and safely: golf carts, hand tools, computers, and general office equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experience

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age upon applying
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous work experience handling money preferred
  • Previous work experience in customer service preferred

The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education, and related experience.
